DUESENBERG GUITARS
Dieter Gölsdorf, German guitar designer and founder of Duesenberg Guitars has been making German-Made Guitars with both solid body guitars and full-hollow-body construction, since 1978.
Back then, Dieter Gölsdorf quickly started to gather comprehensive experience for his Duesenberg brand, with his own vision for the electric guitar. Dieter's love for sophisticated engineering and creative, bold deco designs is the foundation his own brand of electric guitars - Duesenberg. This was born in 1986.
Today, Duesenberg Guitars is one of the world's highest-end, coolest guitar brands around - and one of the few guitar manufacturers who make all of their own hardware too for their electric string instruments!
THE FIRST DUESENBERG GUITARS
Then, in 1995, the Duesenberg Starplayer TV was born and, and without any major marketing, the Starplayer quickly found it's way into the hands of musicians all around the world. The Duesenberg Starplayer TV has a voice of it's own, with stunning retro yet futuristic looks, and is a super reliable guitar made to tour the world.
The Duesenberg Starplayer has been refined through the years and is now part of over 10 different Duesenberg guitar lines that are loved by some of the world's best artists.
WHERE ARE DUESENBERG GUITARS MADE?
Duesenberg Instruments, including guitars, basses and effects, are all made in Germany. As an original design instrument and German guitar manufacturer, Duesenberg Instruments quickly took the world by storm with stage and studio artists alike. With German production of guitar bodies, German Pickup Engineering, Dieter now works with a growing number of Duesenberg engineer and technicians, making stunning instruments for guitar enthusiasts.
Dieter's partner Ingo Renner has taken over the daily operations of the business and Duesenberg design has become a highly collaborative process. Boutique guitar making at it's finest.
WHO PLAYS DUESENBERG GUITARS?
The distinct Duesenberg designs, unique and versatile tones and the overall solid construction means that a lot of professional musicians now play Duesenberg guitars, including Ron Wood, Mike Campbell, Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, Chris Cornell (RIP mate), Elvis Costello, John Mellencamp, John Plataniathe, Chris Whitley, Chris Rodriguez, Chris Spedding, John Mayer, Robbie McIntosh, Johnny Depp and many more.
Duesenberg guitars are also super versatile, and are used for all kinds of music including jazz, blues, funk, rock and even heavy metal guitars in the right hands. Unlike many other manufacturers, Duesenberg guitars use all of their own made parts, solid body or hollow body guitar, every part is made specifically for the particular guitar model.
This lets Duesenberg constantly push and innovate in hardware design - like the option to hide string ends, restring tremolos without hassle, adjust pickup angles more precisely and so much more.

DUESENBERG GUITAR MIKE CAMPBELL
One of the reasons for Duesenberg's success is Dieter Gölsdorf's interpretation of Art Deco, which gives every Duesenberg guitar and Duesenberg bass a distinctive appearance. From the tuners, and truss-rod cover to the pickguard - every part is made for purpose and beauty.
As a signature model, the Duesenberg Mike Campbell is a unique Starplayer TV with a semi-hollow, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar that as Mike says himself "sits between a Fender and Gibson". The Duesenberg Mike Campbell - aside from helping with the amazing Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund, features an arched top and back and a 647mm scale.
For the Mike Campbell Signature, there are some unique details like the humbucker and p90 combo, made for Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Mike's songwriting over the years is Rock & Roll history, and the Starplayer TV Mike Campbell edition with it's blue metallic finish - and two iconic racing stripes and cream binding pairs perfectly with the Duesenberg classically wound GrandVintage Humbucker and Domino P90 Single coil - giving you all of the airy chords and creamy licks in one guitar, that could you ever want.
DUESENBERG GUITAR INNOVATION
In 1995 the first Duesenberg Starplayer guitar was made in the cellar of a German Hannover home. Dieter Gölsdorf at the time was a one-man-business, and today, the company today has over 30 employees using a great balance of traditional and modern manufacturing techniques, such as a CNC milling machine or Plek fret dressing (amazing) that results in every Duesenberg guitar being an amazing playing instrument. A guitar that stands out but doesn't get in your way when you're making music.
Behind the scenes today are numerous technical innovations, like the Z-Tuners for comfortable restringing, the brilliant tilt of the pickups that can be adjusted by a third screw and the Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola, which is one of the most solid trem systems available today.
Duesenberg is also leading the way when it comes to reducing single-coil hum with the PH90 SingleTwin pickup that pairs well with many kinds of pickup wiring - offering a wide range of tones and sounds. Dieter Gölsdorf's still has a drawer of ideas and concepts waiting to be made.
The most recent advances can be seen on the Julia Duesenberg Starplayer and bass guitars like the Starplayer Bass along with other double-cutaway construction, i.e. the Mike Campbell II Duesenberg Starplayer.
