One of our top selling TAYLOR Guitars, the 314ce Grand Auditorium was for a long time been the entry point to their US range. Classic American acoustic tones with Taylor quality and playability makes for an amazing instrument.
Taylor's most popular and versatile body shape, the mid-size Grand Auditorium arrived in 1994 bearing refined proportions that fell between a Dreadnought and Grand Concert. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the GA was designed to deliver on both fronts.
The timber combination on the TAYLOR 314ce Grand Auditorium is Sitka spurce and sapele. Sapele shares mahogany's strong and focused midrange response and, together with a Sitka spruce top, rings out with brightness and clarity. The Elixir HD Light strings are custom calibrated to optimize the tone with bolder highs, fuller lows, and more overall warmth, giving players an expressive tonal palette. Black binding flanks sapele's ribbon-like grain, with small diamond fretboard inlays in Italian acrylic adding a traditional touch.
The guitar incorporates a Venetian cutaway
Inbuilt into the TAYLOR 314ce Grand Auditorium is the ES2 Expression System pickup. The Taylor Expression System® 2 (ES2) is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors.
The 314ce ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.
