This Grand Auditorium boasts back, sides and top of solid Hawaiian koa selected for its visual beauty and punchy, lively musical response. You’ll hear a bold attack with an energetic tone profile that yields crisp trebles, a rich midrange and a low end that grows in over time. One of the beautiful things about Hawaiian Koa is how it opens up over time as it's played in. The brightness of young koa mellows as its played in to become warmer, similar to mahogany but with the top end of maple.
As with all Taylor Guitars, the V-Class bracing is the sonic engine behind the tone for this instrument. V-Class allows every instrument to be fine tuned to match the timber pairing. This leads to Better overall tone, more sustain and power.
The super-thin matte finish makes for a raw feel and aesthetic that’s complemented by mother-of-pearl Fountain inlays, rosewood binding, a paua shell rosette and a dark-stained maple pickguard.
It includes the ES2 acoustic pickup and a deluxe hardshell guitar case for storage and protection.
