The VOX AC30HWH Hard Wired Head takes the classic AC30 formula and puts it into a premium hand-wired head format, giving you the unmistakable VOX chime, harmonic richness and dynamic response with the flexibility to pair it with your preferred cabinet.
Built around the traditional AC30 valve platform, this model features Normal and Top Boost channels, switchable HOT/COOL operation and the familiar EL84-powered response that has made the AC30 one of the most important British amps ever made.
Classic AC30 Hand-Wired Tone
The AC30HWH uses a hand-wired valve circuit with three ECC83/12AX7 preamp valves, four EL84 power valves and a GZ34 rectifier. It delivers the touch-sensitive clean tones, sparkling top end and rich natural overdrive players associate with a great AC30.
Normal & Top Boost Channels
The Normal channel offers a direct, warm response, while the Top Boost channel adds dedicated Treble and Bass controls for brighter, more cutting tones and classic VOX drive sounds. Both channels feature High and Low inputs.
HOT / COOL Switching
The Top Boost channel includes HOT / COOL switching, giving you access to an additional gain stage for thicker, more saturated tones. The function can also be controlled by footswitch, making it useful for live playing.
30 Watts of EL84 Power
With 30 watts of valve power and selectable 8 or 16 ohm speaker operation, the AC30HWH has enough output for rehearsals, recording and stage use while keeping the feel and response that make the AC30 platform so distinctive.
