Pratley Guitars
Handcrafted Australian guitars built for real players.
Pratley Guitars are handcrafted on the Gold Coast using Australian native tonewoods and thoughtful design that prioritises tone, comfort and reliability. These instruments are built for musicians who want something distinctive — guitars that respond well in the studio, on stage and in everyday playing.
At Colemans Music in South Melbourne, we are proud to stock Pratley guitars alongside other respected acoustic brands. Pratley instruments combine boutique craftsmanship with practical design, making them appealing to players who want a high-quality Australian-made guitar.
Australian Made with Native Tonewoods
One of the defining features of Pratley guitars is their use of Australian tonewoods.
Many models feature timbers such as:
• Tasmanian Blackwood – warm, rich and balanced
• Queensland Blue Fig – visually striking with strong projection
• Bunya Pine tops – clear, responsive acoustic tone
• Queensland Maple – bright and articulate
These woods give Pratley guitars a distinctive voice while also highlighting the beauty of Australian materials.
All Pratley guitars are built in Nerang, Queensland, with careful attention to construction, durability and playability.
Designed for Gigging Musicians
Pratley guitars are designed to work well for players who perform regularly.
Key features often include:
• carefully voiced body shapes for strong projection
• comfortable neck profiles for long playing sessions
• reliable hardware and electronics
• high-quality pickup systems for stage performance
Many Pratley acoustics use LR Baggs pickup systems, allowing the natural acoustic tone of the guitar to translate clearly when amplified.
