A Unique Australian Tonewood
This VT D78c features Camphor Laurel for the back and sides, a timber not commonly used in large scale guitar production but one that delivers exceptional tonal qualities. Introduced to Australia in the 1800s and now abundant across southeast Queensland and northern NSW, Camphor Laurel is dense yet responsive, offering a tonal character that sits comfortably between rosewood and mahogany.
Expect a warm and rich midrange with a subtle bass push, paired with crisp articulation on the top end. It brings a woody bloom and gentle natural compression that suits a wide range of playing styles. Whether you are strumming with energy or playing softly with fingers, the guitar responds evenly and musically.
AAA Spruce Top with Hand Voicing
A premium AAA spruce soundboard complements the Camphor Laurel body.
