PRELOVED FENDER Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster – Black
Very good preloved condition.
The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster is one of those guitars that makes a lot more sense once you actually plug it in. It combines the familiar feel and shape of a Telecaster with acoustic-style construction and a versatile pickup system, giving you a guitar that can cover convincing acoustic textures, electric sounds and plenty of territory in between.
Finished in matte Black, this example is in very good condition. Being a matte-finished guitar, it does show some light player wear and handling marks in the finish, as you'd expect from normal use, but overall it presents very well.
Acoustic & Electric in One Guitar
The Acoustasonic concept is all about giving players access to both acoustic and electric sounds without constantly changing guitars.
The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster features a solid Sitka spruce top with a chambered mahogany body, producing a genuine acoustic response before you even plug it in.
It's much slimmer and more comfortable against the body than a traditional acoustic, while the familiar Telecaster-inspired neck and 25.5" scale make the transition from an electric guitar feel very natural.
Fender & Fishman Electronics
At the heart of the Acoustasonic is a combination of Fender and Fishman-designed electronics.
The guitar uses an undersaddle piezo pickup for its acoustic voice alongside a Fender Acoustasonic Shawbucker magnetic pickup, giving you access to both acoustic and electric-style sounds.
A simple 3-way selector and Blend control let you move between and combine the different voices without needing to navigate menus or complicated controls.
This makes the Acoustasonic particularly useful for live players who need to move between acoustic and electric textures during a set.
More Than Just a Stage Acoustic
One of the things we like about the Acoustasonic design is that it isn't simply an acoustic guitar squeezed into an electric-shaped body.
Unplugged, the chambered construction and spruce top give you enough natural acoustic response for practising around the house, writing or working through ideas without plugging into anything.
Plug it in and the pickup system opens up considerably more possibilities.
Run it into an acoustic amp or PA for acoustic sounds, use the magnetic pickup for more electric character, or experiment with both sides of the guitar through your existing pedalboard and amp setup.
Comfortable Telecaster-Inspired Feel
For electric guitar players who have never felt completely comfortable on a traditional acoustic, the Acoustasonic is an interesting alternative.
The 25.5-inch scale, Telecaster-inspired neck and relatively compact body feel much closer to an electric guitar, while the acoustic construction gives you a very different response under the fingers.
It's particularly appealing for singers, songwriters and gigging guitarists who want acoustic sounds without having to manage a large traditional acoustic on stage.
Condition
This guitar is in very good preloved condition.
The matte Black finish does show some light player wear and handling marks, which tend to be more noticeable on this type of satin/matte finish. These are cosmetic signs of normal use rather than anything unusual for a played instrument.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster?
It's a hybrid acoustic-electric guitar that combines acoustic-style construction with the familiar shape and playing feel of a Telecaster. Its pickup system provides both acoustic and electric-style sounds.
What's the difference between the Acoustasonic Standard and the American Acoustasonic?
The Acoustasonic Standard is the more accessible version of the concept. It uses a simplified electronics system with an undersaddle piezo and Acoustasonic Shawbucker rather than the more elaborate multi-voice system found in the American Acoustasonic models.
If you like the Acoustasonic idea but don't need the full electronics package of the American models, the Standard is a very interesting option.
Can you play an Acoustasonic unplugged?
Yes. Its chambered body and solid spruce top produce a genuine acoustic sound without amplification. It won't have the volume or bottom end of a full-size acoustic guitar, but there's plenty there for practising, songwriting and casual playing.
Can I use it with a normal electric guitar amp?
Yes. Particularly when using the magnetic Shawbucker pickup. For its more acoustic sounds, an acoustic amplifier, PA or full-range system will generally reproduce them more naturally.
Is the wear on this guitar significant?
No. We'd describe the guitar overall as being in very good condition. The matte Black finish shows some light signs of normal playing and handling, which we've reflected in the condition description and photos.
Is an Acoustasonic good for gigging?
That's one of its strongest applications. For a player who needs both acoustic and electric textures during a set, an Acoustasonic can potentially reduce the number of guitars you need to take to a gig.
The PRELOVED Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster in Black is a versatile option for the player who wants acoustic and electric sounds in a familiar, comfortable package.
