Description
PRELOVED FENDER Japan ST72 70s Strat - Vintage White
Good preloved condition.
This Fender Japan ST72 70s Strat in Vintage White is a great example of the Japanese-made '70s-style Strat format, with the oversized CBS-style headstock, vintage-inspired layout and unmistakable Fender feel. Serial R009841 places it in the Crafted in Japan R-serial period, and this particular guitar has been upgraded with a DiMarzio Hot Rails bridge pickup and a VegaTrem bridge.
The result is a much more aggressive and flexible take on the classic ST72 platform. You still get the familiar Strat feel and switching, but the bridge position has substantially more output and thickness, while the VegaTrem gives the guitar a smoother, more modern tremolo setup than the original vintage-style bridge.
Japanese-Made 70s Strat Character
The ST72 was Fender Japan's take on the early-'70s Stratocaster design, with the large headstock, 21-fret neck and vintage-inspired styling that define the era. These Japanese-built models have developed a strong following because they combine classic Fender aesthetics with consistently solid build quality.
DiMarzio Hot Rails Bridge Pickup
The original bridge pickup has been replaced with a DiMarzio Hot Rails humbucker-sized-for-single-coil pickup. This gives the bridge position a thicker, hotter response with more output and sustain than a traditional Strat single coil, making it particularly useful for rock, heavier gain sounds and lead work.
VegaTrem Bridge Upgrade
A VegaTrem bridge has also been installed. This is a significant upgrade for players who use the trem regularly, offering a smoother feel and improved modern performance while keeping the familiar Strat-style layout.
Condition
This guitar is in good condition and shows normal signs of use consistent with a preloved instrument. The DiMarzio Hot Rails bridge pickup and VegaTrem are aftermarket modifications and are part of what makes this particular ST72 stand out from a standard example.

Who Is It For?
This is a strong choice for someone who likes the look and feel of a Japanese '70s-style Strat but wants a more powerful bridge sound and a more performance-focused tremolo system. It suits rock, alternative, heavier styles and players who want a classic platform with useful modern upgrades already fitted.
Our Take
Japanese ST72 models are already cool guitars, but the modifications on this one make it much more than a straight vintage-style reissue. The Hot Rails adds serious punch at the bridge and the VegaTrem gives the tremolo system a much more refined feel, making this a practical player's guitar rather than just a period-correct piece.
