The Ibanez ST-800 Stereo Box is a vintage Japanese modulation pedal from the late 1970s that does much more than its name suggests. With a single input and two outputs, it can work as a stereo auto-pan effect when both outputs are used, or as a tremolo when connected in mono.
It is a simple, characterful piece of early Ibanez effects history, with just one Speed control governing the modulation rate. That stripped-back design makes the ST-800 easy to use, while the stereo movement gives it a distinctive spatial effect that still feels creative decades later.
Stereo Auto-Pan
Connect both outputs to separate amplifiers or channels and the ST-800 shifts the signal back and forth between them, creating a moving stereo image. It is an old-school effect that can sound especially effective on clean guitar, keyboards and ambient setups.
Mono Tremolo
Use a single output and the same modulation circuit becomes a tremolo, pulsing the volume up and down for a classic amp-style effect. This makes the ST-800 useful even if you are not running a stereo rig.

The lone Speed knob adjusts the modulation rate from slow, spacious movement through to faster, choppier tremolo and panning effects. There are no menus, presets or secondary functions to navigate.
