Description
TANGLEWOOD Crossroads TC5-CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic Electric
The Tanglewood Crossroads TC5-CE is a dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric designed to capture the look and spirit of classic American guitars from the 1930s. With mahogany used for the top, back and sides, a satin Whiskey Burst finish and onboard Tanglewood electronics, it has a warm, rootsy character that suits everything from strumming and blues to singer-songwriter work.
The Crossroads Series was developed with Swedish luthier Michael Sanden, Tanglewood’s Masterdesign consultant. The range focuses on traditional proportions, carefully selected timbers and bracing designed to give each guitar a lively, responsive feel without pushing the price into boutique territory.
1930s-Inspired Crossroads Style
The Crossroads Series takes visual cues from classic pre-war American acoustics, with a dark Whiskey Burst Satin finish that gives the TC5-CE a vintage, understated look. It feels deliberately traditional rather than flashy, which suits the warm mahogany construction perfectly.
Mahogany Body for Warm, Focused Tone
Mahogany is used for the top, back and sides, giving the TC5-CE a strong midrange, controlled low end and a dry, woody character. It works especially well for rhythm playing, blues, folk and players who prefer a more direct response than a bright spruce-topped dreadnought.
Dreadnought Cutaway Shape
The dreadnought body delivers plenty of projection and low-end weight, while the cutaway gives easier access to the upper frets. It is a practical shape for players who want traditional acoustic power without sacrificing higher-register access.
Built-In Tanglewood TEQ-MX Electronics
The onboard Tanglewood TEQ-MX system makes the TC5-CE stage and rehearsal ready. Plug straight into an acoustic amp, PA or recording setup while retaining the natural character of the guitar.
